Buenos Aires, April 8 (NA) -- On the eve of the first anniversary of the death of Pope Francis, the Vatican announced that it will make an Italian documentary about the life of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, under the motto: "The Argentina of Francis". The work will be focused on the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires to tell the story of Francis until he became pontiff. According to what the Argentine News Agency was able to find out, it will be officially presented on April 8 in Asti, the city where his family is in Italy. The documentary was produced by Italian television Telepace, together with Vatican media, and was filmed in 2024. The film delves into pivotal moments of his life, such as that spontaneous confession in the Basilica of San José de Flores, where he defined his entry into the priesthood, or his well-known football passion for San Lorenzo.
Likewise, the documentary explores less publicized facets, such as his role as a Literature teacher, where former students remember him not only as a teacher, but as a guide in human formation.
